Convent conversion project St. Mary of the Angels Residential

REAL ESTATE. The St. Mary of the Angels Convent on 60th Street, Norplex property for three years, is currently the subject of a rezoning application to permit the construction of a housing project.

For now, the zoning allows only nursing home long term care (nursing homes). Norplex a project planned a priori reality until reality catches on: "There are no opportunities for CHLSD currently [...] in the sense that the government does not open for beds new facilities, "said the president, Yves Doyon. The private side steps Nor have paid off, he added.

As he now plans to redevelop the building into a residential building. At the request of zoning change that he filed with the City of Quebec, he joined a preliminary draft formula that favors the condo. "Originals" condos, describe Yves Doyon, because they reuse the existing space of the convent, which is not devoid of scenic and character.

In addition, the formula of the condo would have the advantage of offering a complementary market to that qu'investit Novalia which, on the same site as the monastery Sainte-Marie, is about to launch construction work for three buildings of rental apartments.

The geographical position, the quality of the building and the view of Quebec make it an exceptional site residence, further tell Mr. Doyon. For three years, the developer maintains the premises to keep them in good condition, but the scope of such care can not be infinite. "We continue to maintain the site in the hope that it opens quickly. [...] But it will get worse if nothing is done, "said he in not being able to hope so, a quick and favorable response of the City.
